My placement year working at Hobbs London in the Brand Creative team, as a communications intern, marketing and public relations were key aspects of the role. I gained experience across a wide range of the business and brand, providing much knowledge and experience to apply to my final year at University, as well as guidance on where I see my future career. Throughout the year I also took the opportunity to build my network which I have continued to build on through my University projects. Key skills I took away from the year are negotiating, presenting online & in-person, collaborating, researching, communicating and relationship building, as well as engaging in the launch of a sister brand.

Kim you have been a real asset to the team. You’ve had many successes throughout your placement year at Hobbs. I feel that your communication skills have developed greatly this would be by corresponding to Press and Influencers daily, presenting the weekly press report and I feel that your social skills have also strengthen at the many events we organised/hosted, both press and influencers really liked you and felt they have a genuine connection with you. Overall, I cannot fault your performance as Hobbs, you will be truly missed.

UNIVERSITY WORK
Working as a student ambassador throughout my final year of University has given me the opportunity to give back to the community and the course as I've had such a positive experience and really enjoyed studying fashion marketing & branding. Attending open days as well as career events outside of Nottingham Trent, including the UCAS Create Your Future event, I've been able to share my knowledge and advise to the next generation of marketers. Gaining key skills including communication, mentoring, representing a brand, and managing time and workload with a part-time job.
VARIED experience
My experience of many different jobs including paper round delivery, cafe assistant, Domino's delivery driver, Thorpe park bar tender and Student Cribs brand manager as well as others have made me resilient and adaptable. Stepping outside of my comfort zone, always approaching a role with a positive, pro-active attitude and striving to achieve excellence. Experienced hard-work in many different industries of many different forms. Across my various employment experience, key skills I gained include customer service, leadership, team work, strong initiative, efficiency, prioritisation, resilience and adaptability.
